2004 L'Oreal Colour Trophy

John Carne in Guildford has scooped the 2004 L'Oreal Wm Colour Trophy.

The Surrey team walked away with the title at the Grand Final in London on Monday night, beating stiff competition from teams around the country.

Other awards included the Next Generation Award, sponsored by Hairdressers Journal International, which went to Natural Hair Company in Lisburn, while Ashoka in Hull won the Glamour Award. The 2004 Men's Image Award was presented to Sheds in Dunfermline.

The night, which was hosted by actor and Spandau Ballet icon, Martin Kemp, was held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on London's Park Lane. Three stunning shows by Beverly and Anestis Cobella, Luke and Daniel Hersheson and Richard Ward wowed the 1200-strong audience.

Regional winners were also announced, which were: Scotish - Unity Hair, Aberdeen; Midlands - Essensuals, Birmingham; Northern Irish - Exclusive Hair Company, Dunmurry; North Western - Mark Leeson, Mansfield; North Eastern - Ashoka, Hull; Western - Lara Johnson, Swansea; Eastern - Jerry Bell, Thorpe Bay; Southern - John Carne, Guild- ford; London - Jordan Burr, London.

The night raised £10,000 for the Hair & Beauty Benevolent, which managing director of L'Oreal Professionnel, Bertrand Fontaine, presented to past president and HJM's editor-in-chief, Jayne Lewis-Orr.
